The Paralegal will provide support to the various activities of the Legal Department,
including contract management, real estate, intellectual property (IP) management,
corporate and jurisdictional compliance, mergers and acquisitions (M&A),
disputes/litigation, employment and other areas and projects as assigned. Reporting
directly to the General Counsel and VP, Legal Affairs, the Paralegal will be an integral
member of the Legal Department, helping to ensure efficiency, timeliness and
legal/regulatory compliance. If you are someone with strong organizational and
interpersonal skills, detail-oriented, and a team player who enjoys working in a highly
collaborative work environment, this might be the perfect opportunity for you.
Responsibilities:
- Manage contract administration, including the company’s centralized contract
- platform
- Draft various agreements such as contributor agreements, services agreements,
- statements of work, and others
- Provide support for compliance/regulatory matters, including corporate filings,
- registrations and other requirements
- Manage and keep up-to-date various internal tracking tools, including the
- trademark docket
- Support the M&A process, including conducting due diligence and preparing
- transactional documentation
- Assist with managing disputes and litigation files, including submitting DMCA
- complaints and drafting cease and desist letters
- Verify billing of external law firms and other providers, and coordinate payment
- Maintain calendar of upcoming events/deadlines
- Assist with drafting/updating internal policies, guidelines, etc.
- Proactively improve the quality of the services, systems and processes of the
- Legal Department
- Proofreading and editing various legal and Company documents
- Provide support for other projects of the Legal Department
- Contribute to various branding initiatives
- Develop and implement new technological solutions, leveraging AI and other
- tools, to enhance the Legal Department’s response time, efficiency and quality of
- work product.
Requirements:
- Completed college degree in Paralegal Technology
- Minimum of 2 years of paralegal or related experience
- Fully bilingual (English and French) considered an asset
- Experience with commercial contracts and corporate matters
- Experience with IP (trademarks and copyright) and/or disputes and litigation considered an asset
- Strong drafting and communication skills, and impeccable attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and juggle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities
- Curiosity and desire to take on mandates in a variety of subject matter areas
- Entrepreneurial and highly adaptable

Le/la parajuriste apportera son soutien aux diverses activités du service juridique, incluant la gestion des contrats, l’immobilier, la gestion de la propriété intellectuelle (PI), la conformité corporative et réglementaire, les fusions et acquisitions (F&A), les litiges, l’emploi ainsi que d’autres domaines et projets assignés. Relevant directement du/de la vice-président(e), Affaires juridiques, le/la parajuriste sera un membre essentiel de l’équipe, contribuant à assurer l’efficacité, le respect des délais et la conformité légale/réglementaire. Vos responsabilités :
- Gérer l’administration des contrats, y compris la plateforme centralisée de gestion contractuelle de l’entreprise
- Rédiger divers accords tels que des contrats de contributeurs, de services, des énoncés de travail et autres
- Apporter un soutien en matière de conformité/réglementation, incluant les dépôts corporatifs, enregistrements et autres obligations
- Gérer et mettre à jour divers outils internes de suivi, notamment le registre des marques
- Soutenir le processus de F&A, y compris la réalisation de vérifications diligentes et la préparation de la documentation transactionnelle
- Aider à la gestion des litiges, notamment par le dépôt de plaintes DMCA et la rédaction de lettres de mise en demeure
- Vérifier la facturation des cabinets externes et autres fournisseurs, et coordonner les paiements
- Tenir à jour le calendrier des échéances et événements à venir
- Contribuer à la rédaction/mise à jour de politiques, directives internes, etc.
- Améliorer de manière proactive la qualité des services, systèmes et processus du service juridique
- Relire et réviser divers documents juridiques et corporatifs
- Apporter un soutien à d’autres projets du service juridique
- Contribuer à diverses initiatives de marque
Profil recherché :
- Diplôme collégial en Techniques juridiques (parajuriste) complété
- Minimum de 2 ans d’expérience pertinente comme parajuriste ou dans un rôle similaire
- Bilinguisme complet (anglais et français) considéré comme un atout
- Expérience en contrats commerciaux et en droit corporatif
- Expérience en PI (marques de commerce et droit d’auteur) et/ou en litiges considérée comme un atout
- Excellentes aptitudes en rédaction et communication, et grande rigueur dans l’attention aux détails
- Capacité à gérer plusieurs dossiers et priorités parfois conflictuelles
- Curiosité et désir de s’investir dans divers domaines de pratique
- Esprit entrepreneurial et grande capacité d’adaptation
