Position Details Position Type - Adjunct Working Title - Adjunct Instructor, Art and Design Classification Title - Adjunct Faculty College/Division - College of Health, Arts & Sciences (HAS) Department - Humanities and Social Sciences Position Summary Department Summary - The Humanities and Social Sciences Department is a dynamic and growing department with a commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration. The department offers undergraduate degrees in Applied Psychology and Population Health Management, Graduate degrees in Applied Behavior Analysis and Marriage and Family Therapy, minors in Arts, Literature and Philosophy, Medical Sociology, and Psychology, and a diverse collection of courses in support of Oregon Tech's general education mission. Position Summary - Oregon Tech is accepting applications for Art and Design undergraduate Adjunct Instructors for the Humanities and Social Sciences (HSS) Department. The Humanities and Social Sciences Department is recruiting a pool of adjunct instructors for possible part-time teaching positions to support the department's General Education and minor in Arts, Literature, and Philosophy courses. Specifically, the department seeks adjunct instructors to teach: Introduction to Drawing, Watercolors, Design and Aesthetics, Introduction to Graphic Design, Art History and other courses within the instructor's field of expertise. Teaching Modality: Appointments may include courses offered on-line, in person on campus, hybrid, or related lab, or in an alternative format responsive to state and local requirements. Location: The primary campus locations include the Klamath Falls campus, the Portland-Metro campus (located in Wilsonville, OR), and online. Teaching may be conducted remotely/online, within the United States. Minimum Requirements Additional Requirements - Master's Degree or higher in Art, Design, Graphics Design or related field – years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Master's degree. Experience teaching at the college level. Preferred Qualifications - Experience using Canvas or a similar Learning Management System (e.g., Blackboard). Experience using virtual meeting and collaboration tools for teaching, such as Zoom, Skype, and Microsoft Teams.
