Please note that this position can be filled at Post-Doctoral or Senior Post-Doctoral level, depending on qualification and experience of the successful candidate. 46 months, Fixed Term, part-time Post Position Summary: The Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation Centre for Gerontology and Rehabilitation | University College Cork is currently recruiting a Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher and / or Post-Doctoral Researcher to work on the HEA-funded PD-Life consortium. This position can be filled at either Senior Post-Doctoral / Post-Doctoral Researcher level, depending on the qualifications and the experience of the successful candidate. We are seeking a highly motivated Post-Doctoral researcher to join PD-Life, which is an emerging all-island hub of excellence that unites researchers, clinicians, people with Parkinson's, and advocacy partners to transform the understanding and care of Parkinson's disease (PD) across the island of Ireland. Focussing on stigma, gender and culture, mental health, physical activity, and wearable technology, the consortium projects will generate integrated, person-centred evidence to improve quality of life and support innovative interventions, foster cross-border collaboration, and train and mentor the next generation of Parkinson's disease research leaders. PD-LIFE is a consortium across 5 universities in Ireland (i.e. University College Cork, Queen's University Belfast, University of Limerick, Trinity College Dublin, University of Ulster), and the Tyndall Institute. Achievement of the expected progression within Post Doc and Senior Post Doc is transferable between the Irish HEI's. This can be reflected in the starting pay of a PD researcher. Similarly, as the PD scheme is an intergenerational training scheme completion of PD1 or PD 2 levels in one HEI will normally render that researcher ineligible for appointment at a similar level in another Irish HEI Researcher Career Development Framework | Irish Universities Association Please note that Garda vetting and/or an international police clearance check may form part of the selection process. (IUA PD1 Salary Scale), or Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher: €54,850-€59,654 p.a. (IUA PD2 Salary Scale). Salary placement on appointment will be in accordance with public sector pay policy.
