Pre-Sales Solution Engineer

Summary We are seeking a dynamic Pre-Sales Solution Engineer to join our team and drive the expansion of our managed IT services, cybersecurity, and AI solutions. This customer-facing role partners closely with sales teams to increase win rates, shorten sales cycles, and improve deal quality by providing technical expertise, strategic advice, and tailored solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong sales presence, bridging the gap between technical offerings and customer needs, and will play a key role in targeting mid-market companies with 25-200 and 50-500 users. This role offers significant growth opportunities within a forward-looking company committed to leveraging innovative solutions in technology.
Requirements
Minimum 5+ years of experience in IT sales, solutions engineering, or technical consulting Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, networking fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, firewalls, switches), virtualization, and cloud technologies Proven ability to present effectively to technical and executive audiences Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously Willingness to travel approximately 25% to Southeast and Midwest regions Based in South Carolina or North Carolina Responsibilities
Partner with the sales team to develop and execute technical strategies that increase deal closure rates and reduce sales cycle times Lead discovery sessions to assess customer environments, risks, and objectives Validate technical fit, scope, and feasibility before finalizing proposals Serve as the technical expert in customer meetings to build confidence with IT leaders and executives Deliver tailored demonstrations and facilitate workshops to showcase managed IT, cybersecurity, and AI solutions Identify practical AI use cases, assess customer readiness, and articulate business value Support pre-sales discovery, positioning, and documentation related to document management and workflow automation Provide clear, defensible solution recommendations, scope definitions, and risk assessments Collaborate with service leadership to ensure solutions are implementable and align with operational standards Benefits
