Unit Details:

• We care for patients undergoing Cardiac, Electrophysiology, and Structural Heart procedures

• 4 state of the art cath labs plus one hybrid room

• Collaborative respectful culture with a tight-knit and cohesive team

• 3 person teams including an RN, a scrub tech, and an additional tech or nurse

• Documentation via Epic and MacLab

• Combination of RN conscious sedation and anesthesia

Shift Details:

• 36 hours per week; 4x 9-hour shifts

• Share on call obligations on nights, weekends, and holidays (requires 30-minute response time)

• Regular Lab hours are 7:00am-4:30pm Monday- Friday

• Call hours 4:30pm-7:00am with 24-hour coverage Saturday, Sunday and holidays

Scope
1.Provides technical support during invasive cardiovascular procedures. Provides patientcare under the supervision of the RN.
2. Assists physicians in radiological imaging of cardiac and vascular procedures, acts as scrub assistant, maintaining sterile conditions during clinical procedures. Operates imaging equipment and works in the control room monitoring and documenting procedure images and events.
3. Educates patients and families regarding the procedure and about the expectations of the procedure. Teaches patient and family about pre and post procedure physical conditions.
4. Assists in maintaining order and cleanliness of the unit. Maintains appropriate stock levels for complex interventions and diagnostic procedures.
5. Completes daily, progress and discharge documentation according to departmental standards. Accurately documents productivity information.
6. Participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. Identifies potential areas for improvement including processes that could be streamlined or revised to improve patient satisfaction. Identifies potential safety hazards that may create problems for patients and/or staff, and takes appropriate actions. .
7. Promotes mission, vision, and values of SCL Health, and abides by service behavior standards.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Registered ARRT is required or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Technologist RCIS is required within 18 months of hire or Registered Respiratory Therapist with CV specific certification or RCIS or RCES required Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) and ACLS is required Surgery Technician License must be obtained within 3 months from hire date in the State of Colorado.
Preferred
Associates degree preferred
Two (2) years of experience in Cardiology/Cath Lab is preferred
