Chief Operations Officer Osborne are proud to partner with a highly respected, values-led organisation in the appointment of a Chief Operations Officer (COO). This is a significant executive leadership opportunity for an experienced operations professional who is passionate about organisational excellence, operational effectiveness, governance and delivering meaningful impact across communities and stakeholders. The successful candidate will join a purpose-driven organisation operating at scale across Ireland, delivering programmes and services that support communities, social inclusion and positive societal outcomes. This role will particularly appeal to candidates with experience in public sector, semi-state, not-for-profit, community, voluntary or similarly values-based environments. The Chief Operations Officer will play a central role in shaping and delivering organisational strategy while leading a large and complex operational function through a period of ongoing development, innovation and transformation. The Opportunity Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of the Strategic Leadership Team, the COO will provide strategic and operational leadership across the organisations operations function, ensuring effective governance, operational excellence, programme delivery and customer-focused service provision. The role will suit an individual who is comfortable operating in evolving environments, managing multiple stakeholder groups and leading teams through change with confidence and clarity. Key Responsibilities: Lead and oversee the organisations operational functions, ensuring services and programmes are delivered effectively and efficiently Support the delivery of strategic objectives through strong operational planning and execution Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance processes, systems and overall organisational performance Provide leadership and direction to operational teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture Partner with senior leadership to support organisational growth, transformation and change management initiatives Monitor operational performance, manage risks and implement solutions to improve service delivery Build strong relationships with key stakeholders and maintain a strong focus on customer and community outcomes Ensure appropriate governance, compliance and operational controls are maintained across all areas Oversee resource planning and contribute to workforce and succession planning initiatives Support the development of operational strategies that align with the organisations long-term vision and values Candidate Profile: The successful candidate will demonstrate substantial executive-level operational leadership experience within a complex organisation and will possess the strategic capability, leadership presence and operational expertise required to succeed in this role. Significant senior leadership experience within a Chief Operations Officer or comparable executive operations role Proven track record of successfully leading large operational functions and delivering organisational performance improvements Strong commercial, operational and financial acumen Demonstrated experience leading organisational change and transformation initiatives Experience operating within complex stakeholder environments Strong governance and risk management experience Exceptional leadership, communication and influencing skills Ability to think strategically while maintaining operational focus and attention to delivery Strong analytical, decision-making and problem-solving capabilities Highly organised with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively Resilient, adaptable and solutions-oriented approach Qualifications: Relevant third-level qualification in Business, Finance, Operations Management or a related discipline Postgraduate or Masters qualification desirable Experience within public sector, semi-state, community, voluntary, social impact or values-based organisations Understanding of governance structures and publicly funded environments Appreciation for community development and social inclusion initiatives This is an exceptional opportunity for an accomplished operational leader to join a purpose-led organisation and make a meaningful contribution at executive level.
