Job Summary
The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for overseeing the integrity and timeliness of data operations. This role ensures proactive research, in‑depth analysis to solve complex problems, and successful interaction with internal customers. The analyst researches membership eligibility issues, ensures data integrity, and represents membership intake for internal and sometimes external customers. The position delivers reliable throughput of all membership data and works with Engineering, Product, QA, Operations, Analytics, and external teams to complete diverse tasks. Essential Job Functions
Ensure intake, delivery, and quality of data from customers. Investigate and resolve data inconsistencies or discrepancies and communicate findings to the appropriate staff. Design and perform database queries to meet internal and external analytical needs. Discuss requirements, issues, and future enhancements and provide recommendations for improvement; prepare written documentation related to customer data analysis. Proactively monitor incoming data for trends. Provide support in the preparation and analysis of various reports. Excellent analytical skills involving determination of root cause, issue size/impact, and prioritization. Support all facets of the business with data analysis and critical ad‑hoc reporting. Add to a growing suite of enterprise‑class BI dashboards for internal and external use. Develop new data validation tests to ensure clean and efficient data flow. Analyze and interpret complex data, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders. Specific Skills / Attributes
Perform research and analysis of member eligibility, healthcare claims, pharmacy data, and other external data to support account teams, processing and reporting functions. Proactively monitor incoming data for trends and investigate data anomalies. Lead responses to internal customer questions and requests. Work with development and operations analysts to manage and improve monthly and daily processes. Collaborate with team members on data management projects and enhancements through requirements, documentation, project management, and QA. Seek opportunities for improvement of established processes. Configure systems to suit the needs of the customer and execute customer implementations and terminations successfully. Validate and sign off on internal processing; perform one‑off data fixes, operational processing, and special requests as needed. Interact with both technical and non‑technical internal/external customers. Mentor other analysts on the team. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Business Administration, or related field. Master’s degree preferred. 3–5+ years of experience in data management, analysis, or reporting. 2–4+ years of experience with BI tools such as Qlik or Tableau. Experience with data handling and business/application processes. Familiarity with Unix/Linux; Oracle database experience helpful. Experience using PL/SQL commands and creating database queries that join 2–3 tables. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience with MS Office suite (particularly Excel), Toad (or equivalent editor), MS Access, SQL/Oracle, TFS (Team Foundation Server), and Python. Overall understanding of general programming logic.
