The Senior FP&A Analyst is responsible for providing financial support for critical areas and time‑bound processes such as the annual budget, periodic forecasts and the month‑end close cycle. The role assists in the preparation of various financial activities including data gathering, trending, modeling, forecasting, planning and reporting. It collects information from various areas across the company to aid in building models that provide insight into underlying business dynamics. Job Responsibilities
Prepare and review accurate and timely financial and business‑related analyses, research, and forecasts. Perform advanced trend and variance analyses, incorporating data from different areas and synthesizing findings. Incorporate cross‑functional impacts, trends, and industry news into analyses. Translate findings into process improvements. Provide weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting and updates to the management team. Maintain KPIs for the assigned area. Provide insights into the performance of the business and translate findings into potential action plans. Compile data and information from a variety of internal and external sources for financial evaluation research and analysis activities. Present results of research and analysis to management. Support the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting of the assigned business area, including variance analysis and sensitivity testing. Play a leadership role in critical planning and analysis processes. Develop and provide ownership of complex short‑term (1 year) and long‑term (3–5 year) forecasting models. Lead process improvements and strategic initiatives within the functional area under the direction of a supervisor. Act as an internal consultant and interact with management at all levels. Perform other relevant job duties as required. Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting or related field. MBA or CPA preferred. Experience: 5 years FP&A experience required. Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI is a plus. Experience with Oracle and UFIN Financial Reporting & Planning tools is a plus. Strong strategic planning, financial and operations/business background; not purely financial background required. Financial modeling experience; budgeting and forecasting experience a plus. Ability to articulate impact of analysis, modeling, and business decision support on key financial measures (e.g., Gross Profit, Operating Margin, DOH, DSO). Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills. Self‑driven and highly motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team. Lead and direct work of others across the company without direct organizational line of authority. Strong administrative, organizational and relationship skills. Good judgment in a fast‑paced organization; ability to manage confidential information. Statistical modeling skills a plus. Skills & Abilities
Thorough knowledge of and experience in providing economic, market, consumer, and business research and analysis for wholesale industries. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Access, and related software. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Strong teamwork ethic, positive proactive flexible attitude, and the ability to take complete ownership of responsibilities. Ability to work under pressure, meet time constraints, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. Discretion, diplomacy, and judgment when dealing with confidential information. Work Environment
Remote Role: This position is classified as remote and may be performed from the candidate’s primary residence. Remote associates are welcome to work from the office but are not required to do so, except for occasional visits to corporate office or distribution centers as directed by the manager. Travel: Minor travel may be required for meetings or other business reasons. Physical Environment / Demands: The role is office‑based, requiring long periods of sitting at a desk or computer terminal, use of hands for keyboard and mouse, and speaking or listening. Repetitive tasks such as using calculators, keyboards, telephones, and other office equipment are common. The position may occasionally require stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching. About UNFI
