TBCSL operates within the Trinity Commercial function and contributes to the delivery of commercial strategies across key business units, including Accommodation, Catering, Events, Visitor Attractions (such as the Book of Kells Experience and Trinity Trails), and Retail. Role Overview We are seeking a results driven, customer focused Event Manager to plan, manage, and deliver exceptional events for both internal and external clients. The successful candidate will have significant industry knowledge and experience and will be an important interface and relationship manager for both internal and external stakeholders and clients. This role sits within the Central Events team and reports directly to the Head of Events. The successful candidate will play a key role in achieving annual revenue targets and supporting the growth of the events portfolio, while also driving cross selling opportunities across Trinitys commercial services. The Event Manager will take ownership of each event following contract confirmation, leading the planning, coordination, and on-site execution through to post-event evaluation. They will ensure seamless delivery at every stage, consistently meeting and exceeding client expectations. The Event Manager will also be responsible for leading and coordinating event support staff to ensure high-quality on-site delivery. This is a dynamic and varied role requiring strong commercial awareness, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to make a real impact on our commercial events business. The role will be based in Trinity College Dublin, working 5 days over 7, including evenings and weekends as required. Core Responsibilities Work collaboratively with the Business Development team to transition confirmed opportunities into detailed event plans, supporting revenue targets and strategic objectives Manage confirmed bookings from post contract stage, including event planning, coordination, delivery, invoicing, and post event evaluation Deliver exceptional client service, ensuring attention to detail and a proactive approach to anticipating client needs Act as the primary liaison between clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring smooth event delivery from concept to completion Identify and drive cross-selling and upselling opportunities across Trinity Commercial Services Develop detailed event plans, timelines, and operational briefs Coordinate all event logistics, including venue setup, catering, audiovisual requirements, suppliers, deliveries, and access arrangements Manage, roster, brief, and supervise event support staff, including Event support staff and seasonal Event Ambassadors, ensuring clear task allocation, performance standards, and excellent on-site service delivery Maintain accurate event records using CRM and event management systems (e.g. KX, CMIS) Prepare and manage Event Management Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Health & Safety documentation Host site inspections and familiarisation visits for prospective clients Ensure compliance with Trinity College policies and standard operating procedures Support the Enquiries Office and wider team as required Assist the Head of Events with additional projects and operational priorities Experience & Skills Required Minimum 5 years experience in event management, ideally within a venue, MICE, or hospitality environment Strong customer focus with excellent attention to detail Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver high-quality client experiences Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously Strong organisational, prioritisation, and delegation abilities Proficiency in CRM and event management systems Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings and weekends Ability to remain calm under pressure and resolve last-minute challenges effectively Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive working relationships Collaborative team player with a proactive and results driven mindset Experience in post-event evaluation and continuous improvement practices Benefits: Performance Bonus Pension Bike to work Employee Assistance Program
