Join us in making a positive impact on healthcare delivery as we strive for excellence in patient service./ppOverview: As a Medical Assistant at Hometown Urgent Care, you will play a crucial role in supporting healthcare delivery by assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Your contribution will be vital in ensuring the safety, welfare, and comfort of our patients./ppDuties:/pulliResponsible for taking patient history and obtain vital signs/liliPerform basic testing or screenings such as: vision, audio, urine drug screens, breath alcohol, EKGs, pulmonary function testing./liliPerform necessary phlebotomy for collection of laboratory samples./liliAccurately complete corresponding paperwork/computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples./liliAble to perform subcutaneous, intradermal, and intramuscular injections and accurately complete paperwork according to policy for that procedure./liliPerform point of care testing such as: strep, mono, glucose, influenza, Urine pregnancy, Urinalysis, blood glucose levels./liliDispense and document medications and other treatment modalities./liliInsure sterile technique, instrument cleaning and sterilization, proper use of the autoclave./liliSchedule and coordinate necessary records for ancillary care for patients./liliAssist providers with exams and testing (pelvic exams, eye irrigations and ear irrigations, I Ds and splinting/ ortho-glass preparation/liliPerform occupational medicine testing such as: urine drug screens, breath alcohol testing, audiogram, and DOT physicals/liliMaintain confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA)./liliEnsures equipment is in working order. Reports equipment malfunctions to manager./liliLogs laboratory procedures completed. Processes related paperwork using computer equipment as directed./liliResponsible for patient call backs, scheduling physician referrals; specialists referrals and pharmacy issues; and patients education./liliMaintains examination rooms, sterilization of equipment and stocks necessary medical supplies./liliPerforms duties to ensure good patient flow./liliRegistration duties: explain to patients accepted insurances and those out of network and knowledgeable of all pricing. Properly collect and record payments, complete registration screen in a timely manner./liliTravel to care centers within designated region/liliProtects patients rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information/liliCleans and stocks the site with other members of the team/liliTraining other team members./liliAdditional job responsibilities may be assigned./li/ulpQualifications:/pulli1-2 years previous experience working in a physician practice or clinic setting is preferred./liliBasic computer skills, including the use of Electronic Medical Records (EMR)/liliAbility to function independently without close supervision, and to consistently exercise discretion and the highest level of good clinical and other professional judgment./liliAbility to complete and maintain CPR certification/li/ulpBenefits:/pulli401(k)/lili401(k) matching/liliDental insurance/liliDisability insurance/liliEmployee assistance program/liliHealth insurance/liliLife insurance/liliPaid time off/liliRetirement plan/liliVision insurance/li/ul/div
