POSITION DESCRIPTION:

We are currently seeking a full-time, creative, and passionate Cook who wants to provide an exceptional culinary experience for our residents.
Permanent full-time position, 70 hours every two weeks (30 hours the first week, 40 hours the second week), day shift from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, 10-hour shifts (one week of 3 days and the other week of 4 days) and one weekend out of two.

ROLE AND GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assemble plates of food
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure good teamwork
• Ensure and optimize quality standards in the use of food
• Ensure the kitchen and equipment are kept clean according to established hygiene and cleanliness standards
• Peel and cut vegetables for meals
• Perform other related duties
• Plan and cook meals in accordance with the appropriate methods and standards
• Supervise the preparation of cold meals and desserts
• Use products and equipment according to the safety, quality, hygiene and cleanliness rules and standards in effect
• Use work methods consistent with the health and safety rules and cleanliness standards in effect
• When appropriate, collaborate with the chef in the creation of the menus by proposing ideas

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• A proffesional studies dimploma (DEP) in institutional cuisine or equivelent
• A minimum of 2 to 3 years experience
• Experience in a large restoration's volume (an asset)
• Training certification (MAPAQ)
• Knowledge of senior living residences is a major asset
