Position Summary:
Moraine Park Technical College is seeking a Adjunct Faculty - Mechanical Design Technology Instructor on the Fond du Lac Campus. This position is responsible for the multiple modality delivery of instruction and facilitation of student learning and providing ongoing development of curriculum, assessment, and learning strategies to meet college academic and workforce needs. In addition, this position will provide regular student support and contact, or refer to the appropriate department, to meet the learner’s classroom and career goals.
The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in a related field and two years (4,000 hours) of paid work experience related to the program(s) being taught, including one year (2,000 hours) of related paid work experience that has been acquired within the past five years. In lieu of this one year of recent experience, two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the past five years may be considered. (Two years of post-secondary teaching experience means eight semesters of part-time teaching or four semesters of full-time teaching at an accredited institution.)

Responsibilities:
• Prepare for and facilitate learning in the assigned courses according to the College’s core values. Establish a professional and safe learning environment. Set the classroom tone by modeling appropriate workplace skills and behavior. Maintain a positive climate for learning by performing classroom management and being aware of, monitoring, and enforcing the Student Code of Conduct.• Meet student learning needs by incorporating a variety of teaching methods and assessments.• Maintain student confidentiality, records, and documentation as required by Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Submit grades within the expected time-frame.• Provide timely verbal and written feedback to the students to ensure continued growth and development.• May participate in the development, implementation, evaluation, and updating of curriculum.• Assist with student recruitment and positively promote the College programs and services offered.• Promote retention and student success through the utilization of referrals to College services and resources.• Maintain ongoing relationships with K-12, Department of Corrections (DOC), community, and industry partners beyond the classroom.• Actively maintain proficient knowledge and skills in emerging trends and current occupational practices. Complete annual professional development activities in areas of Faculty Quality Assurance Standards (FQAS) competencies. Complete all required training.• Maintain equipment and supplies for the classroom and labs, as necessary to support the assigned program area and future trends in industry.

o Mold and/or Metal Stamping Die Design
o Production Planning
o Drafting Layout
o Electronics, Pneumatics, and Mechanical Equipment
o Design Research
o Technical Writing
o Design checking
o Inspecting
o Detailing
o Product Research
o Math Computations
o Cost Estimate for Design
o Material Handling Design
o Computer-Aided Design (CAD) Experience
o Jigs and Fixtures
• Upon hire, must maintain and/or obtain Higher Learning Commission, Faculty Quality Assurance System, and other agency requirements and licensure required to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable.• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse populations by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.
Other Position Requirements: • Flexible scheduling may be required to include evenings and weekends.• This position requires some teaching and/or travel to the MPTC West Bend campus.• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Hiring Range:
Adjunct pay rates may vary between $39.85 - $43.99/hour based on course configuration (pending board approval)
Starting:
August 10, 2026 (Fall 2026)
Hours/Schedule/Travel: Up to 10 hours per week, some travel between the Fond du Lac and West Bend MPTC campuses.
