This entry-level medical assisting role offers opportunities for on-the-job training and advancement to higher-level positions upon certification./ph3Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliInterview patients, record vital signs, and update patient charts./liliAssist in managing daily patient flow as needed./liliProvide direct patient care, perform indirect patient care activities, and conduct laboratory tests under the supervision of a physician or nurse./liliMaintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing environment./liliAdminister vaccines, medications (IM/SC/ID/Oral), EKGs, and assist with procedures/treatments under physician supervision./liliPerform supervised lab work upon skill sign-off by a nurse or physician based on physician orders. Prepare instrumental equipment for sterilization./liliAdhere to Nursing Department policies and procedures./liliInspect equipment and supplies for proper function, safety, and expiration dates. Report malfunctioning medical equipment and safety concerns to the supervisor./liliEnsure quality control (e.g., Glucometer, eyewash, refrigerator temperature, and autoclave) and maintain cleaning logs as required./liliComply with Infection Control and OSHA Regulations, including the handling and disposal of biomedical waste./liliHandle confidential information with discretion./liliCollaborate effectively with personnel from other departments./liliMaintain procedure logs as required and input nursing procedures and other data into the computer system./liliFollow up on missing results in medical records before patient appointments./liliBe willing to work weekends, holidays, and various shifts and locations based on company needs./liliPerform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor./li/ulh3Supervisory Responsibilities/h3pThis position has no supervisory responsibilities./ph3Physical Demands/h3pThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job./ppWhile performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to work standing up, walk, use hands to operate tools and equipment and must be able to exert regularly up to 10 pounds of force, frequently exert 30 pounds of force and occasionally exert 50 pounds of force to constantly perform the essential job functions. The employee will be frequently required to reach with hands and arms, bend, balance, kneel, crouch, crawl, push, and pull. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. The worker is subject to noise; there may be sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level./ph3Required Education and Experience/h3ulliHigh school diploma, GED or technical school graduation is required./liliCompletion of a medical assistant training program is required./liliMinimum of two (2+) years of Medical Assistant experience./liliActive Medical Assistant National Certification/Registration or equivalent licensure with superior skillset (e.g., EMT, Paramedic, LPN, etc.) preferred/liliBLS/CPR certification required./liliAbility to effectively communicate with patients and staff/liliPeripheral Intravenous (IV) training and certification preferred./liliProficiency in EPIC, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint./liliBilingual (English/Spanish) highly preferred./liliPhlebotomy certification preferred./li/ulh3Benefits/h3pWe are committed to creating a culture where everyone feels important, welcomed, and included.
