CASHIER-CHECKER

Job duties include operating the cash register, ringing up sales, receiving money and making change, processing credit card sales, and charging to member's account. At the end of each tour of duty, the cash register is cleared and cash and supporting documents are turned over as instructed. Daily inventories are conducted and the area is maintained in a clean and orderly condition. In a food activity, check-out duties such as ringing up food, beverages, and merchandise by individual item, totaling sales, processing credit card sales, receiving money, and making change are performed. Related food service duties may include assisting in setting up the serving line, preparing and serving simple food and beverage orders and snacks, setting up the serving line, replenishing beverage dispensers, advising kitchen staff when food items need replenishing, restocking coolers/freezers, and cleaning tasks such as scrubbing bowls, pots, and pans, cleaning ceilings, exhaust hoods, under and behind kitchen equipment, washing floors and walls, cleaning walk-in refrigerators and freezers, sanitizing garbage cans, and collecting and transferring trash to the disposal area. Other related duties as assigned.
