Job Description
Allstate Cybersecurity and Controls is embarking on a transformation to modernize, leverage AI, and stay ahead of bleeding‑edge technology. The Distinguished Engineer will work as an industry leader in software‑enabled security, driving the integration of AI to accelerate delivery and enable critical, enterprise‑wide impact across multiple teams.
Responsibilities
Pioneer and break down cross‑organization, complex, enterprise problems into deliverable components.
Construct solutions across multiple teams, integrating AI and third‑party solutions where possible to speed delivery and ensure quality.
Grow engineers across organizational boundaries while remaining on the cutting edge of technology.
Oversee multiple efforts within a program, ensuring continuity and preventing duplication of effort.
Handle the most critical and difficult tasks while ensuring the success of multiple teams within their sphere of influence.
Qualifications Industry Expert in Software‑Driven Security Practices
Data monitoring, tagging, marshaling, triage
Observability
CI/CD pipelines and gating enforcement
Identity and Access Management
Messaging security via API, streaming, and other legacy modes of system communication
Multi‑cloud security across both container and virtual machine environments
Industry Expert in Leveraging AI to Accelerate Software Delivery
Large Language Models
GenAI and Chatbot
Model Context Protocol
AI‑based code assistants
Agentic access
Broad knowledge of third‑party products that could be valuable to Allstate
Preferred Technology Experience
Full‑stack engineer across Java, React/Angular, multi‑database technology
CI/CD pipeline automation including Jenkins and GitHub Actions
Infrastructure automation, preferably Terraform
API gateway experience across cloud‑based gateways, preferably Apigee
Cloud experience across AWS, Azure, and GCP
Data management within data lakes, preferably Snowflake
Observability stack, leveraging data monitoring tools like Datadog, AppDynamics, Splunk, and the ELK stack
Identity and access management tooling, Entra/Active Directory for RBAC, and preferably advanced ReBAC solutions like Google Zanzibar
Multiple LLMs especially Claude and GPT and integration into IDEs, especially VSCode and Cursor

Compensation Compensation offered for this role is 211,000.00 - 290,500.00 annually and is based on experience and qualifications.
The candidate(s) offered this position will be required to submit to a background investigation.
