Enumerate is hiring an experienced Data Science Lead. This role will oversee the data strategy for the company, aligning data initiatives with business goals and product priorities. The ideal candidate will have prior experience overseeing data governance and partnering cross‑functionally to translate data into actionable insights. The role also involves building, deploying, and maintaining AI/ML models. This is a remote position within the United States; all candidates must be able to work EST hours and be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. The overall total compensation range for this role is $130,000–170,000, inclusive of a base plus bonus structure.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the overall data strategy for the company, aligning data initiatives with business goals and product priorities.
Manage a small team of data engineers, analysts, and data scientists, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.
Define and implement a data governance framework, including policies for data ownership, stewardship, lineage, and quality.
Partner with business, product, and engineering teams to translate analytical needs into data models, infrastructure, and workflows.
Serve as the data domain expert, advising executives on emerging trends in data science, AI, and analytics.
Data Architecture & Modeling
Design and oversee enterprise‑wide data models and schemas that ensure consistency and reusability across systems.
Collaborate with the Data Engineer to implement scalable pipelines, integrations, and APIs supporting analytical and operational use cases.
Define standards for data cataloging, documentation, and lineage tracking, ensuring transparency and accessibility.
Oversee data governance tooling (e.g., AWS Glue or equivalent) and enforce compliance with company policies.
Analytics & Enablement
Partner with business teams to translate data into insights, empowering decision‑making across functions.
Establish best practices for analytics and model development, including experimentation frameworks and performance monitoring.
Evaluate and recommend machine learning and AI opportunities that enhance business value.
Develop KPIs and dashboards to measure data quality, usage, and organizational impact.
Requirements Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
BS or MS in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field (PhD a plus).
8+ years of experience in data strategy, data science, or analytics leadership.
Proven experience in data modeling, governance, and architecture design within a modern cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
Experience managing and mentoring technical data teams (data engineers, scientists, analysts).
Strong understanding of ETL pipelines, APIs, and data warehouse technologies.
Proficiency with SQL, Python, and statistical or ML libraries (e.g., pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch).
Familiarity with data governance and catalog tools (Microsoft Purview, Alation, or Collibra preferred).
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience implementing data governance at scale across multiple departments.
Demonstrated success in building and operationalizing analytics platforms.
Familiarity with AI/ML pipelines and model lifecycle management.
Experience with Agile development and modern AI‑informed data observability tools.
