WHO YOU ARE As a Data Engineering Manager, you will provide day‑to‑day technical and people leadership for one or more core business lines, oversee planning, development, and maintenance of the data platform, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to achieve optimal data‑driven outcomes.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Oversee technological choices and implementation of data pipelines and warehousing strategies.
Design data sets that are simple, maintainable, and enable Data Analysts, Data Scientists, and stakeholders to work efficiently with data.
Lead cross‑organizational efforts to automate data processes and build data‑as‑a‑service capabilities.
Advocate for and implement technical best practices to ensure high‑quality outcomes.
Mentor data team members and foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement.
Partner with other leaders to bring innovative concepts to reality and design data models for downstream maximization.
Ensure reliability in data pipelines and enforce data governance, security, and protection of customer information while balancing technical debt.
Evaluate and champion new engineering tools that enhance efficiency and scalability within the team.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
10+ years of experience in Data Engineering with a minimum of 3 years in a management role.
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
Extensive experience with data engineering technologies, including proficiency in Python and SQL.
Experience working on product teams and collaborating with data science team members.
Strong communication skills to articulate ideas to team members and non‑technical stakeholders.
Working knowledge of Airflow, dbt, Jira, Git, and data‑warehousing tools such as BigQuery and Snowflake.
Experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, container technologies.
Proven track record in leading data engineering teams, mentoring staff, and promoting a culture of learning and teaching.
Demonstrated ability to take risks on novel solutions and persist through roadblocks.
Acquaintance with designing custom machine‑learning pipelines that integrate into production environments.
TECHNOLOGIES YOU WILL USE & MUST BE WELL‑VERSED WITH
Python for data pipelining and automation.
Airbyte and Airflow for ETL purposes.
GCP or AWS platforms utilizing Terraform, container services (GKE/EKS), Cloud Functions / Lambda, BigQuery or Snowflake, and dbt for data modeling.
PowerBI for data visualization and consumer‑facing dashboards.

The expected salary range is $160,000 – $180,000, dependent on skills and location. All offers are reviewed to ensure fair and equitable pay aligned with the candidate’s skills, education, experience, and geographic location.
