to support a high‑impact Meter Data Management (MDM) initiative for a major utility client.
This contract role is a 4‑6 month remote opportunity focused on designing, developing, and optimizing MDM solutions that process large volumes of metering data to improve billing, analytics, and customer operations.

Position Summary The
Oracle MDM Developer
will be responsible for designing, configuring, and developing meter data management solutions (using Oracle MDM, EnergyIP, or similar platforms) to enable secure, reliable, and efficient handling of meter and consumption data.
The role requires close collaboration with business, functional, and technical teams to deliver high‑quality integrations and configurations within a fast‑paced transformation program.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and configure Meter Data Management (MDM) solutions to support utility metering, billing, and analytics processes.
Design, build, and optimize MDM workflows for high‑volume data ingestion, validation, and processing.
Create and maintain data interfaces between MDM systems and CIS, billing, AMI/AMR, and analytics platforms.
Implement business rules for meter data validation, estimation, and editing (VEE).
Perform unit testing, system testing, and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data integration, performance, and scalability.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, configuration guides, and runbooks.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to align MDM configurations with business requirements and regulatory standards.
Support production migration, go‑live readiness, and post‑implementation stabilization activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5+ years of experience as a developer or technical consultant with Meter Data Management systems (Oracle Utilities MDM, Siemens EnergyIP, or similar).
Hands‑on experience with MDM configuration, business rule development, and integration to CIS/billing platforms.
Strong knowledge of AMI/AMR data flows, meter reading, VEE processes, and large‑volume data handling.
Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, Java, or similar languages for MDM customizations and interfaces.
Experience with SOAP/REST APIs, middleware, and ETL tools used in utility data integration.
Excellent problem‑solving, documentation, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in large‑scale utility transformation projects or CIS/MDM implementations.
Familiarity with cloud‑hosted MDM environments (AWS, Azure, OCI).
Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance for utility customer data.
Utility industry experience (electric, gas, water) in highly regulated environments.
