Overview The Operations Senior Manager is both a strategic leader and a hands-on operator, responsible for driving operational excellence across the Enterprise Services division. This division is comprised of Engineering, Customer Experience, Program Design, and Emerging Opportunities functional departments and provides services enterprise-wide. This role combines high-level planning with tactical execution to ensure seamless coordination, resource optimization, and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with leadership to set strategy while actively managing processes, tools, and projects that deliver measurable results.
Job Summary:

This division is comprised of Engineering, Customer Experience, Program Design, and Emerging Opportunities functional departments and provides services enterprise-wide. This role combines high-level planning with tactical execution to ensure seamless coordination, resource optimization, and continuous improvement. The position partners closely with leadership to set strategy while actively managing processes, tools, and projects that deliver measurable results.
Location This is a remote position, and the ideal candidate will be located in Vermont, Massachusetts, Maryland, Michigan, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Virginia, Rhode Island, Washington DC, Delaware, and New York (we are unable to hire candidates based in New York City, Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens, or Staten Island).
Essential Functions
Strategic Planning & Leadership
Partners with the Managing Director, ENT, to lead annual strategic planning, goal setting, and progress monitoring.
Engages stakeholders across ENT departments and VEIC corporate/shared services to ensure alignment and transparency in service delivery.
Manages Business Development proposal participation and coordination across departments as needed.
Operational Oversight & Budget Management
Manages ENT corporate budgeting process, monthly variance reviews, and forecasting cycles.
Oversees VEIC ENT Tactical Operations (TacOps) and ensures accurate financial reporting and resource allocation.
Resource & Capacity Planning
Leads resource coordination meetings to align staffing with current projects, proposals, and future needs.
Utilizes data analysis, modeling, and forecasting tools to inform resource strategies and maintain transparency.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
Identifies and implements cross-division operational practices to enhance service delivery and client support.
Leads key initiatives to improve management and operational excellence such as project managing operational projects, cross-departmental coordination, knowledge management improvement efforts, and client portfolio monitoring.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
Prepares, monitors, and interprets operational and financial data to track trends, inform decision-making, and support quarterly and annual goals.
Oversees tools and systems for projects, ensuring streamlined processes across departments.
Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
Organizes and manages leadership and divisional meetings, including strategic content development and logistics.
Collaborates with department leads, corporate services, and external partners to develop strategic solutions and maintain strong relationships.
Staff Development & Leadership
Provides operational guidance and coaching to support staff; fosters professional development and clear expectations for efficiency and coordination.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Experience
Strong personal commitment to the mission, vision, goals and values of VEIC.
Bachelor’s degree and eight years’ experience in operations, including understanding of workflow and data tracking needs and practices, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired.
Highly proficient with word processing, spreadsheet and database software including extensive Windows and Microsoft Office applications experience.
Demonstrated experience in providing excellent customer service and relating to customers at all levels of the organization.
Demonstrated ability to be organized, detail-oriented, accurate, and able to handle multiple tasks and competing priorities in a dynamic and fast paced environment.
Extensive experience in operations leadership, strategic planning, and resource management.
Strong proficiency in project management and financial systems; ability to interpret complex data for decision-making.
Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements
This position primarily involves desk-based work with extensive collaboration and communication responsibilities. Physical requirements include:
Ability to remain stationary at a workstation for extended periods (typically 6-8 hours per day with regular breaks)
Regular use of computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone/headset requiring fine motor skills and repetitive hand/wrist movements
Visual acuity to view digital screens, documents, and presentations for prolonged periods
Verbal communication abilities are sufficient for clear articulation during in-person and virtual meetings, presentations, and discussions
Auditory capabilities to participate effectively in conversations, conference calls, and virtual collaboration sessions
Cognitive focus for simultaneous management of multiple communication streams, projects, and stakeholder relationships
Occasional movement between meeting spaces, collaboration areas, and individual workstations
Minimal lifting requirements (typically under 15 pounds) for office supplies, equipment, or materials

Travel Requirements
No Travel Required
This position does not require regular travel. Occasional in-person attendance at company events or meetings (typically 0–2 times per year) may be encouraged, but participation is often optional or available virtually.
