We’re seeking a skilled Senior Engineer Manager to join our team!
Machinify is seeking a visionary, technically deep and inspiring Senior Engineer Manager to lead our core product team! Our teams develop end‑to‑end AI system services to automate and bring efficiency into healthcare services. We leverage the latest advances in AI—including data mining, generative AI, and AI agents—to build the next generation of healthcare claims and payment automation products. The ideal candidate has a range of skills across systems and tech stack migrations, backend services development, and a combination of technical and people leadership. You challenge the team on using tools that scale velocity, including influencing automation of testing and AI code generation. What You’ll Do
This is a hands‑on role: You will be deeply involved in architectural design, part‑time on coding and code reviews.
Lead the development robust, observable and intuitive solutions and workflows for healthcare subrogation product lines.
Manage a small and nimble team of developers.
Develop plans and track production features for on‑time quality releases.
Understand with data what slows your team down, and develop phased plans to reduce pain points and increase velocity.
Own projects aligned with our product development strategy.
Influence the direction of the underlying platform to ensure it is extensible, scalable, and secure.
Measure impact through metrics.
Collaborate with team and external stakeholders such as Product Managers, Backend and Frontend Engineers, UX team, & our customers.
What You Bring
3+ years of combined technical leadership and engineering management experience.
8+ years of production application development, backend services experience, and developing APIs/micro‑services at scale.
Proficiency in one or more backend languages (Java, Scala, or Rust). Rust is preferred.
Experience hiring, growing careers and managing performance for engineering teams and leads.
Experience working alongside ML engineering teams.
Experience leading cross‑functionally with product managers, other engineering teams, UI team, and customer account representatives.
Strong orientation towards building and utilizing lightweight mechanisms, including running retrospectives, operations reviews, and backlog scrubs.
BS or MS in Computer science (or equivalent experience).
Familiarity with AI tools for development and test efficiency.
Comfortable with ambiguity and taking the initiative.

The salary for this position is based on an array of factors unique to each candidate: Such as years and depth of experience, set skills, certifications, etc. We are hiring for different levels, and our Recruiting team will let you know if you qualify for a different role/range. Salary is one component of the total compensation package, which includes meaningful equity, excellent healthcare, flexible time off, and other benefits and perks.
Pay range: $220,000-240,000.00
