Technical Program Manager (TPM) – Client Interface & Data Standards We are seeking a Technical Program Manager who combines strong customer‑facing communication with deep experience managing data specifications, interface standards, and delivery programs. You understand how enterprise clients consume data, the importance of high‑quality standards, and how to guide customers toward scalable, standardized solutions. You don’t need to be a practicing data professional or data engineer, but you speak fluent data – data models, interface specs, quality expectations, and workflow impacts. You love translating ambiguous client needs into clear enforceable specifications, partnering with Data Engineering to ensure upstream quality, and most importantly, helping clients adopt standardized data interfaces without customization.
Responsibilities Client Interface Leadership
Serve as the primary customer touchpoint for interface file delivery, guiding clients to adopt Zinnia’s standard data specifications and minimizing customizations.
Lead client discussions to ensure alignment, understanding, and long‑term adherence to standardized data models.
Specification Stewardship
Own the lifecycle of interface specifications with Product and Data Engineering, ensuring specs are accurate, complete, and technically feasible.
Translate business needs into clear, testable data specifications, including field mappings, data definitions, and quality rules.
Cross‑Functional Delivery
Coordinate across teams to ensure data interfaces are delivered accurately, reliably, and on schedule.
Manage client onboarding, remove blockers, and track milestones, risks, and dependencies across multiple delivery programs.
Quality & Governance
Champion data quality and governance standards across all interface data entities and upstream processes.
Validate data readiness, identify upstream gaps, and enforce consistent adoption of Zinnia’s core data models.
Internal & External Communication
Create clear artifacts—documented data dictionaries, mapping guides, onboarding plans, FAQs, and status updates—to support client and internal alignment.
Explain the value of standardized specifications and act as the bridge between technical teams and business/client stakeholders.
Program Excellence
Continuously enhance delivery processes through improved playbooks, testing frameworks, onboarding flows, and change management.
Identify recurring client challenges and propose scalable solutions that reduce ad‑hoc effort and increase overall efficiency.
Qualifications 7–10+ years of experience in data‑related program management, solution architecture, client delivery, or similar roles in SaaS, fintech, or insurance. Strong understanding of data interfaces, data models, data sharing, and integration of workflows. Experience working directly with enterprise clients to align requirements, negotiate specifications, and drive adoption. Excellent communication and client‑facing skills — able to explain technical concepts clearly and defend standards diplomatically. Proven track record of managing cross‑functional programs with complex dependencies and high expectations for accuracy. Ability to translate business context into detailed data requirements, field definitions, and quality expectations. A mindset focused on scalability, repeatability, and reducing custom work across clients.
Bonus Points
Experience in Life & Annuities, Insurtech, data integrations, or financial services data exchanges.
Prior roles involving data ingestion, ETL/ELT, API/file‑based integrations, or data warehouse‑powered products.
Familiarity with data standards in insurance ecosystems (ACORD, DTCC, etc.).
Hands‑on exposure to SQL, BigQuery, Snowflake, or data modeling concepts.
Experience creating onboarding playbooks, delivery processes, or specification of governance frameworks.
Benefits & Compensation We offer competitive compensation with a salary range of $140,000 – $160,000, dependent on skills and location. Benefits include health/dental insurance, parental leave, profit sharing, 401(k), incentive/bonus opportunities, tuition reimbursement, and more. All offers are reviewed to ensure fair, equitable pay aligned with skills, experience, and geographic location.
We are an Equal Opportunity employer committed to a diverse workforce. We do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability.
