Overview Allied Universal Technology Services is looking to hire a Director, Strategic Programs - Utilities. The Director will provide oversight to client programs within complex utility accounts. The role partners with Strategic Program Managers, sales and operations teams to ensure operational alignment, consistent quality, and strong financial awareness across assigned accounts, while supporting regions in delivering effective, compliant customer solutions.
Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development:
Manage strategic installation operations for a $50M+ utility portfolio while guiding Program Managers through concurrent construction and integration projects.
Lead and develop a high-performing team through coaching, succession planning, and compliance-focused audits.
Collaborate across regional leadership, Sales, Engineering, and Operations to ensure program alignment and success.
Program Oversight & Delivery:
Ensure compliance with contract scope, schedule, and budget.
Oversee resource planning, manpower forecasting, and subcontractor performance across sites.
Conduct monthly reviews of project progress and performance metrics, including cost metrics (CPI/SPI), and track key performance indicators across projects.
Financial, Compliance & Client Engagement:
Provide strong business acumen with experience in P&L ownership, project margin management, and operational forecasting, while driving financial performance including margins, change orders, overhead recovery, and approval of cost estimates and bid strategies.
Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic clients, serving as executive sponsor and company representative in high-level meetings and briefings.
Conduct quality audits to ensure installation standards, documentation, and commissioning, while meeting contract and regulatory requirements.
Support business development through technical expertise, pricing strategy, and execution credibility.
Qualifications (Must Have)
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of five (5) years in program or installation leadership positions within the utilities or critical infrastructure environments.
Minimum of five (5) years of experience driving operational and financial performance with strong financial acumen and team-building ability.
Experience managing large, multi-site programs or project portfolios exceeding $50M+, with projects involving access control, CCTV, and intrusion detection.
Current driver’s license if driving a company or personal vehicle for business.
Ability to collaborate across stakeholders and regions, applying results-driven problem-solving to support client growth, employee engagement, and profitable business outcomes.
Proficiency in web-based applications and computer systems, including Microsoft Office and BI tools for metrics analysis, reporting, automation, and presentations.
Willingness and ability to travel to remote locations up to 25%.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Experience with Strategic Accounts or National Accounts in a project management environment.
Background in the electronic security system industry, contract management, construction management, estimating, and project management.
Benefits and Compensation
Salary Range: $150,000 - $185,000 annually plus 20% bonus potential, auto allowance, and gas card.

Eight paid holidays annually, five sick days, and four personal days.
Vacation time accrues at 3.08 hours biweekly; unused vacation is paid where required by law.
