Responsibilities
Core Risk Management
Risk Assessment & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive risk assessments specifically for derivatives products and crypto assets, proactively identifying potential vulnerabilities in trading strategies.
Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and implement bespoke risk metrics and monitoring tools tailored to the derivatives portfolio to ensure accurate assessment of exposure; prepare detailed risk reports for senior management that highlight key exposures, trends, and performance metrics.
Stress Testing & Modeling: Perform rigorous stress tests on the portfolio to evaluate resilience under adverse market conditions and potential worst‑case scenarios; regularly review and refine risk models and methodologies to maintain relevance and accuracy.
Mitigation Strategies: Collaborate closely with traders and portfolio managers to develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, such as hedging and diversification techniques specific to derivatives; evaluate and recommend risk‑reducing trades to ensure optimal financial outcomes.
Technical Project Management
End-to-End Project Execution: Plan, execute, and oversee strategic risk management projects from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with global risk strategies.
Cross-Functional Coordination: Act as primary bridge between the Risk team and other departments—Product, Engineering, Trading, Compliance—facilitating communication and ensuring technical builds meet Risk needs.
Process Automation & Technology: Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency by automating manual risk assessment and reporting procedures; evaluate and implement new technologies and tools improving effectiveness of the risk framework.
Oversight & Delivery: Monitor project progress continuously, identify potential execution risks early, and implement mitigation strategies; provide technical oversight to project teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and industry standards.

Required Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in risk management or technical project management, preferably within financial services, fintech, or a financial services start‑up.
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of digital asset trading (spot & derivatives) and relevant risk management practices.
Project Skills: Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously and prioritizing tasks.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills; facilitate coordination between diverse departments.
Attributes: Self‑motivated, highly independent, and capable of maintaining a high level of accuracy in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Technical Skills: Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, SQL, or R, focused on financial engineering. Experience with VBA or AppScript is a plus.
Certifications: PMP certification or similar project management credentials.
Compensation and Benefits Industry Context: Prior experience in the cryptocurrency market is advantageous. Base pay expected between $102,000 - $128,000 USD for New York City. This role eligible for other compensation such as performance‑linked bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. Actual compensation will be determined based on location, skillset, experience, and qualifications.
