Job Description The Regional Continuous Improvement Manager (RCIM) will help drive transformational culture change across multiple plants, including but not limited to continuous and process improvement through the use and deployment of Operational Excellence tools/methods and effective change management. The RCIM will report to the Director of Continuous Improvement and will work closely with cross‑functional leaders across the organization, influencing and partnering with them to drive excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Deploy the Novolex Operational Excellence (OPX360) system that aligns with business unit strategy and goals, focusing on high‑impact initiatives that drive financial results.
Apply OPX360 principles, processes, and initiatives across the facilities to support cultural and organizational transformation.
Lead, teach, and coach Kaizen events (e.g., VSMs, 5S, standard work, SMED, TPM) for cells, processes, or facilities to improve performance.
Facilitate recurring lean exercises and cadences such as daily Gemba walks to ensure assigned facilities meet or exceed customer commitments.
Develop value stream maps to measure current performance and establish future‑state targets as wastes are eliminated, leading to improved KPI performance.
Deliver hands‑on CI training and project execution across all functional areas to drive a continuous improvement culture, including admin, operations, and support functions.
Create and sustain a productivity funnel of projects for the assigned facilities to achieve annual cost‑saving targets and provide periodic updates.
Evaluate opportunities for new or existing product design, materials, and/or manufacturing processes to provide best cost and value add to customers.
Support equipment, workspace, and process design optimization to achieve maximum efficiency, providing technical knowledge and training to support lean activities.
Drive team development and performance, ensuring high employee engagement and a diverse and inclusive workforce.
Coach and develop junior CI, process engineering, and other associates at the facility to build their skill set.
Critical Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field.
5 or more years of continuous improvement experience in a manufacturing facility.
Experience leading and facilitating training and Kaizen events to identify and implement improvements (e.g., VSM, 5S, Standard Work, SMED, TPM, A3, PDCA).
Excellent analytical ability, including data compilation and analysis to generate insights.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; ability to coach and influence.
Financial and business acumen, including reviewing and analyzing financial statements, sales and activity reports, and other performance data to identify opportunities and measure improvements.
Ability to travel up to 50%.
Compensation Salary range: $135,000 - $145,000 plus bonus and benefits. The range reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
