Job Summary The Infrastructure Director of Database Engineering and Performance is responsible for leading the design and delivery of IT infrastructure outcomes to meet the specific business and user requirements. This leadership role involves overseeing critical infrastructure services, including database administration, performance and capacity management, and disaster recovery planning alignment. The position is tasked with translating complex business requirements into solution proposals and presenting formal budget initiatives or strategic recommendations. The role ensures operational stability by maintaining documentation, monitoring controls, and serving as the primary escalation point for support and major incident activities. Finally, the Director provides technical mentorship and employee performance management to the team while governing third‑party vendor implementations and hand‑offs to support operations.
Job Responsibilities Accountable for IT infrastructure design outcomes to meet business and user requirements:
Oversee key infrastructure services including but not limited to: Database engineering and administration, disaster recovery, performance and capacity management, infrastructure vendor management
Roadmap, lifecycle, OS/software/hardware
Create and maintain design documentation, including for the use of support areas
DR Planning alignment, including supporting design and plan creation
Create and maintain operational control limits including visible dashboards and reports
Create Monitoring requirements, along with ongoing controls and metrics
Design back up requirements, including appropriate metrics and ongoing oversite with operations
Oversite and support of vendor escalation contacts/processes
New/upgraded technology implementation
Stay current on emerging technologies and how they apply to your area
Collect business requirements, to support final designs and documentation for ongoing support
Translate business requirements to solution proposal
Provide presentation of recommendations, risks and timelines Document design business case materials as required
Identify third party vendors to implement design initiatives
Document scope and costs of design budget requirements and initiatives. Present formal proposals up to the C level of Luminare Health. Upon approval, develop SOW and final pricing with Vendors as necessary
Oversite of third-party vendor implementation (governance)
Completion of as built documentation (leveraging third party implementer if necessary)
Govern and hand off requirements to run support teams any initiatives and/or new requirements
Participate and own active problem management as applicable
Escalation point for support issues as needed
Support all major incident activities as needed (oversite of all Infrastructure MI's)
Participate in Budget process and annual planning. Document and present as required
Support design associates technically, personal growth and overall performance management
Perform other assigned duties as necessary to support
Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships within the business and IT:
Provide status, metrics and support to meet IT and business objectives
Understand business requirements
Develop and use collaborative relationships to facilitate the accomplishment of work and business goals
Drive aligned actions, initiatives and projects
Provide support and/or solutions to support business needs and improving end user experience
Develop and deliver presentations supporting delivery, initiatives and projects
Develop and maintain partner relationships:
Lead effective governance models supporting desired outcomes and contractual obligations
Align partners with business requirements enabling optimization, solutions and improvement to end‑user experience
Drive lower cost solutions to meet business requirements
Facilitate and foster partner/ business relationships
Manage and align direct reports to meet IT, business and individual objectives
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or 10+ years of equivalent experience in IT Service Delivery Management
Seven (7) plus years of overall Information Technology experience, which includes a minimum of five (5) years of database management
Ten plus years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server
Deep understanding of Azure cloud architecture including Azure SQL Server
Five plus years of experience with Dynatrace
Must be an organized, self-starter and results oriented person.
Must be capable of adapting to change and driving change in the organization.
Must be capable of coordinating service on evenings and weekends when company needs dictate.
Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to determine root causes and provide direction on corrective action.
Project management skills and experience with managing simple to complex efforts.
Ability to work with cross‑functional teams and to influence both internally and externally.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to influence differing and diverse audiences.
Experience in developing and setting objectives for associates.
Must possess decisive leadership, and the ability to exercise excellent judgment and decision‑making skills in the heat of the moment.
Strong skills to Identify and understand issues, problems, and opportunities; utilize systems to correlate events with disruptions to business services.
Knowledge and understanding of ITIL and ITSM best practices.

The compensation offered will vary depending on your job‑related skills, education, knowledge, and experience. This role aligns with an annual incentive bonus plan subject to the terms and the conditions of the plan.
Min to Max Range $102,900.00 - $193,200.00
Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location.
