Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Teleradiologist to join our second shift team. This role is crucial for maintaining our commitment to 24/7 diagnostic availability, providing emergency diagnostic radiology services at a Level 1 trauma center in Des Moines, Iowa as well as additional hospitals across central Iowa. Second shift volume averages 13-18 RVUs / hour.
Schedule: 26 weeks/year; rotate every other week; no weekends or holidays
Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret various forms of radiological data during the evening shift, including X-rays, MRI scans, CT scans, ultrasound, and other diagnostic imaging studies; includes stroke work up and CTA perfusion – neurorad fellowship not necessary
Provide timely, accurate, and detailed reports to facilitate immediate patient care decisions.
Consult with on-call physicians or other healthcare providers to discuss clinical conditions and imaging results.
Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and practice guidelines concerning radiological practices.
Participate in peer reviews and quality improvement programs to enhance service standards and patient safety.
Qualifications
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) with a residency in Radiology.
Board certified in Radiology.
Hold or be eligible for a medical license in the state of Iowa.
Demonstrated proficiency in emergency radiology is preferred.
Strong technical skills with radiological information systems and PACS.
