Candidates without a fundraising/development background but with extensive writing experience will be considered Exceptional writing skills and high degree of intellectual curiosity Significant experience with project management Demonstrated passion for/commitment to education and fundraising Experience with Salesforce or other donor management software preferred Experience securing funding from national or local foundations is a plus Experience with federal grants is a plus Comfort working with numbers, and interpreting budgets and data analysis preferred A strong work ethic, supported by commitment and excellent follow up and follow through Willingness to “pitch in” and work as a team player on a spectrum of activities from supporting initiatives administratively to contributing to and executing strategy WORK SAMPLE SUBMISSION (Required) Along with your application, please submit one professional writing sample that demonstrates your ability to communicate clearly and persuasively with external audiences. This may include grant-related writing (such as a proposal, letter of inquiry, or report) or another relevant work product (e.g., a memo, brief, or stakeholder communication). Limit your writing sample to a single page using a 12-point font and standard one-inch margins. Confidential or identifying information may be redacted. ROLE CLASSIFICATION AND BENEFITS This role is remote, full-time, and includes benefits such as rich medical, dental, and vision insurance, 41 paid days off per year (prorated for the period in which you work), paid parental leave, a professional development budget and a quarterly cell phone subsidy. The hiring salary range for this role is $63,000 - $68,000 and will be commensurate with experience. We have a hiring salary range of $70,000 - $75,000 for specific higher cost of labor locations, which include New York City, Washington DC, Boston, San Francisco/Oakland, Los Angeles, Seattle and their metro areas. New Classrooms is a fully remote organization. All employees work from home, and occasionally travel for in-person get-togethers and off-sites.
