Four years ago, Dragonfruit set out to bring together some of the most talented visual storytellers, viral video strategists, and big-name clients, to change the way we create and consume on YouTube. The result has been bigger than we could have imagined, having generated over a billion organic views and hundreds of millions of subscribers for creators like MrBeast, Ali Abdaal, Mark Manson, Chris Williamson, Codie Sanchez, and orgs like Y Combinator, e.l.f beauty, WHOOP, ClickUp, Center for Humane Technology & more. Unlike other social media agencies or YouTube businesses, Dragonfruit refuses to celebrate a “creator economy” that trades viewers’ time and attention for rapid-fire dopamine entertainment. Instead, we want to lead a global movement to make YouTube a more valuable and educational place for all people; where views and subscribers are never an end in and of themselves, but rather a means of increasing human flourishing; where viral-educational YouTube channels not only bolster awareness and impact for our client's brands, but also create genuine value in viewers’ lives. The Role
As a Data-Analyst / Content Strategist at Dragonfruit, you will build the foundational strategies for some of the most influential YouTube channels in the world, shaping conversations in business, personal & professional development, health & wellness, and beyond. You won’t just be populating spreadsheets and making templated reports— you’ll be ensuring the ideas that matter most get delivered to the world at scale. That will make you not only a crucial collaborator with our biggest clients, but also a major contributor to Dragonfruit’s growth, as we strive to revolutionize online education and become the most prestigious YouTube agency in the world. Day-to-day, you’ll monitor and enhance the YouTube performance across all of Dragonfruit’s clients, triangulating research across several data sources. First, YouTube as a whole, studying platform-wide trends, as well as sub-cultures and patterns within the educational niche. Second, through exporting and organizing our client’s private channel data. Third, competitive research and market analysis, aided by the best available outlier tools, content tech, and A.I. And fourth, from the client and their business, accessing their internal data sets, as well as qualitative info on their brand and larger goals. Your job will be to synthesize all this information into coherent, innovative, industry-leading YouTube strategies, designed to push the boundaries of educational YouTube and achieve millions of views and subscribers for our clients. You’ll deliver your strategies to our creative pods, staffed by Creative Directors, Producers, Post-Production Managers, and Video Editors, who will then be responsible for integrating your insights and recommendations and bringing them to life through expertly crafted, cinematic, educational content. Lastly, you will get to close the feedback loop by analyzing how your strategies are performing, run title and thumbnail a/b tests on live videos, and compile weekly and monthly analytics reports for our clients, using data to craft a narrative that ensures continual improvement and high client retention. Proven experience as a YouTube Strategist, YouTube Producer/Manager or similar role
with documented results (must be able to provide examples of channels you personally played a significant role in growing) You live, eat, & breathe YouTube
- you have a deep understanding of YouTube meta cultures and trends, knowledge of creators across VARIOUS niches (not just gaming), and a mastery over viral video formats, concepts, titles, thumbnails, scripts/outlines, retention-optimized editing, and YouTube analytics Expert scientific thinker & builder
- you are obsessed with research methods, testing hypotheses, devouring millions of data points, and building experiments in the form of content strategies that put your theories to the test against real market demand. Ability to work within U.S. timezones.
