AI/RPA Solutions Architect
Koniag IT Systems LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking an AI/RPA Solutions Architect with a TS/SCI security clearance to support KITS and our government customer at Langley Air Force Base, VA. We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more. Position Overview
The AI/RPA Solutions Architect is a critical technical leadership position responsible for designing, prototyping, and transitioning artificial intelligence and robotic process automation solutions that deliver measurable mission value across Air Combat Command. This role requires deep technical expertise in AI/ML technologies, hands-on development capabilities, and the ability to translate complex operational requirements into scalable, secure, and compliant solutions across multiple classification levels. Position Differentiation: NIPRNet vs. SIPRNet/AFSCI
Two specialized positions ensure parallel development pipelines: Position 1 (NIPRNet Architect) focuses on unclassified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) solutions, enabling rapid prototyping, broader user access, and cross-organizational knowledge sharing. Position 2 (SIPRNet/AFSCI Architect) focuses on classified solutions operating in Secret (SIPRNet) and Top Secret (AFSCI) environments, addressing intelligence, operational planning, and mission-critical applications requiring higher levels of security and compartmentalization. Essential Job Functions
AI/RPA Solution Design and Architecture (40%) Design and develop AI/ML and RPA prototypes addressing operational challenges identified by ACC staff, wings, and directorates Translate user requirements and mission needs into technical specifications and solution architectures Leverage enterprise-approved AI platforms (e.g., AskSage, GenAI tools) and RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Power Automate) to build functional prototypes Develop solutions including but not limited to: Automation/RPA: Repetitive task elimination, data entry automation, report generation, workflow orchestration Decision Support: Predictive analytics, pattern recognition, risk assessment, recommendation engines Knowledge Management: Intelligent search, document summarization, question-answering systems, knowledge extraction Data Analysis: Trend identification, anomaly detection, natural language querying, visualization automation Maintain concurrent development of 3-6 prototypes at various stages of maturity Conduct rapid prototyping cycles (4-6 weeks from concept to working demo) Ensure solutions are designed for scalability, maintainability, and government sustainment Technical Architecture: Define solution architectures that integrate with existing ACC IT infrastructure, data sources, and security frameworks Design data pipelines, API integrations, and middleware components Ensure solutions comply with DoD Enterprise DevSecOps Reference Design and cloud-native principles where applicable Document technical architectures using standard notation (e.g., UML, C4 model, data flow diagrams) Conduct technical feasibility assessments for proposed use cases Evaluate and recommend AI/RPA platforms, tools, and technologies based on mission fit, security posture, and total cost of ownership Classification-Specific Responsibilities: NIPRNet Architect: Focus on solutions that maximize accessibility and collaboration across ACC enterprise Develop prototypes that can serve as proof-of-concept for potential classified variants Prioritize solutions with broad applicability (training, logistics, administrative automation) Design for cross-domain solution (CDS) compatibility where classified variants may be needed SIPRNet/AFSCI Architect: Focus on intelligence, operational planning, and mission-critical applications requiring classification Ensure solutions meet Impact Level 5 (IL5) and Impact Level 6 (IL6) security requirements Design compartmentalized solutions for AFSCI environments with appropriate access controls Prioritize solutions supporting ISR operations, targeting, mission planning, and intelligence analysis Solution Transition and Deployment (25%) User Validation and Testing: Conduct user acceptance testing (UAT) with operational end-users in realistic mission contexts Facilitate iterative refinement based on user feedback and performance metrics Validate solution accuracy, reliability, and usability against defined acceptance criteria Document test results, user feedback, and lessons learned Operational Transition: Transition successful prototypes to sustained operational use, meeting contractual target of 2+ solutions per quarter Develop comprehensive transition packages including: Technical documentation (architecture, configuration, dependencies) User guides and standard operating procedures (SOPs) Training materials and train-the-trainer content Troubleshooting guides and FAQs Sustainment and maintenance procedures Conduct knowledge transfer sessions with government personnel designated as solution owners Provide post-transition support (30-60 days) to ensure stable operations and address issues Monitor solution performance and user adoption post-transition Return on Investment (ROI) Documentation: Quantify mission value for every transitioned solution using standardized methodology Calculate time savings, cost avoidance, productivity gains, quality improvements, and strategic value Document ROI with supporting data, user testimonials, and before/after metrics Present ROI analysis to stakeholders and leadership for validation Maintain portfolio of transitioned solutions with cumulative impact metrics Quality Assurance: Ensure all solutions meet quality standards before transition (security, performance, usability, documentation) Conduct security reviews and obtain necessary approvals (A6, CDO, security office) Verify compliance with DoD data handling, CUI marking, and classification requirements Perform code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and performance testing Technical Advisory and Consultation (20%) Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as technical advisor to ACC leadership, directorate chiefs, and wing commanders on AI/RPA capabilities and opportunities Participate in technical working groups, governance councils, and planning forums Provide expert recommendations on AI/RPA platform selection, integration strategies, and adoption roadmaps Assess emerging AI/ML technologies and trends for potential ACC application Conduct technology demonstrations and capability briefings for stakeholders Use Case Identification and Prioritization: Collaborate with ACC HQ staff, ISR Wings (32 branches), and operational units to identify high-value use cases Conduct discovery sessions, process walkthroughs, and pain point analysis Evaluate use cases for technical feasibility, ROI potential, security implications, and strategic alignment Develop prioritization frameworks considering mission impact, effort, risk, and dependencies Maintain backlog of prioritized use cases with documented business cases Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with training, resource management, and user support teams to ensure holistic solution delivery Coordinate with security and compliance leads to ensure solutions meet all requirements Engage with platform vendors (AskSage, UiPath, Microsoft, etc.) for technical support and capability enhancement Collaborate with other
