Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related technical field Experience with at least one programming or scripting language, such as Python, Java, SQL, or similar Familiarity with databases, data structures, data pipelines, or data processing concepts Basic understanding of data cleaning, data transformation, data validation, and data quality practices Experience working with structured or unstructured data Secret clearance required to start Job Description

We have an immediate opportunity for a dynamic, hardworking associate-level Data Engineer who wants to join our mission. As a Data Engineer Associate, You Will Support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines used to collect, process, and analyze program data Work with technical users to understand data needs, identify data sources, and help develop solutions that support analytics, automation, and AI/ML use cases Assist with ingesting, cleaning, transforming, and organizing structured and unstructured data, including time-series, test, telemetry, and operational data Help develop and maintain data workflows, scripts, dashboards, and tools that improve access to high-quality data Support data validation, data quality checks, and troubleshooting efforts to ensure data is accurate, reliable, and usable Collaborate with software engineers, systems engineers, AI/ML engineers, and program stakeholders to enable data-driven decision-making Maintain awareness of emerging data engineering, analytics, cloud, and AI/ML-enabling technologies Document data processes, workflows, and technical approaches to support repeatability, maintainability, and knowledge sharing To promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin cultivates a collaborative work environment that inspires differences and big-picture thinking.
