Working within Altru’s collaborative, community‑owned health system, you will partner closely with physicians, nurses, occupational and speech therapists, case managers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to coordinate safe, effective, and timely care. You will regularly communicate patient progress, adjust plans of care based on clinical outcomes and best practices, and document all services accurately and efficiently in the electronic medical record in accordance with regulatory and payer requirements.
The Physical Therapist will provide education to patients and families on home exercise programs, equipment use, fall prevention, pain management strategies, and lifestyle modifications that support long‑term function and wellness. You will contribute to discharge planning, recommend appropriate durable medical equipment, and assist with referrals to community resources and follow‑up services. The role may include working with a diverse caseload such as orthopedic, neurologic, cardiopulmonary, post‑surgical, pediatric, and geriatric populations.
Aligned with Altru Health System’s culture of compassionate care, innovation, and community commitment, you will participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence‑based practice projects, and continuing education to maintain and advance clinical competency. You will support and mentor students or new staff as appropriate, share knowledge with colleagues, and uphold departmental standards, safety practices, and infection prevention protocols.
