Job Description – Mechanical Drafter (Structural Steel Experience Required)
We are seeking a Mechanical Drafter with strong structural steel experience to join our team. This role will support the design and detailing of structural steel components and assemblies for construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed mechanical and structural steel drawings using AutoCAD/Revit
- Produce shop drawings, fabrication drawings, and layouts
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and fabricators
- Review and revise drawings based on project requirements and site conditions
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
Requirements:
- 2–5+ years of drafting experience with a focus on structural steel
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (Revit considered an asset)
- Strong understanding of structural steel detailing and fabrication processes
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
