Join Our Creative Team as a Fabricator/Welder!
Are you a master of multi-process welding? Can you decipher complex CAD drawings? Do you have a keen understanding of material properties?
We invite you to become a vital part of our team in Stratford-upon-Avon, where the magic of stage sets and props comes to life! In this role, you will play a key part in delivering innovative, high-quality, and sustainable stage scenery for productions across RSC stages.
As a member of our theatre company, you will engage in a diverse range of creative fabrication work, supporting designers' visions for our artistic programme. Your craftsmanship will shine as you produce high-standard work from detailed drawings, ensuring that deadlines and requirements are met.
Your Key Responsibilities- Review and interpret technical drawings to complete tasks efficiently.
- Measure, cut, and assemble set pieces using industrial machinery.
- Conduct regular safety checks on tools and equipment.
- Load scenic components into venues and secure them on stage.
- Support team members in their development and upskilling.
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- Proficiency in MIG, TIG, and ARC welding techniques.
- Experience in crafting curved architectural scenery.
- Strong knowledge of materials such as mild steel, aluminium, stainless steel, and brass.
- The ability to read and interpret complex CAD drawings, technical blueprints, and scale models.
- A solid understanding of workshop health and safety, including safe and sustainable practices.
This is a full-time, permanent position based at our Scenic Workshops in Stratford-upon-Avon. You will work 44 hours per week, with occasional weekend and evening shifts required. During production weeks, hours will be flexible, often including evenings and weekends.
