Salary: £28,000 - £39,520

About Ormston School

Located in the vibrant area of Headingley, Leeds, Ormston School opened its doors in September 2024. We provide a safe and supportive environment for pupils aged 5 to 18, ensuring they thrive and leave school equipped with the skills and experiences needed to contribute positively to their communities.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a SEND Teacher, you will teach small bespoke class groups of up to 6 pupils, supported by a Teaching Assistant. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering well-structured lessons aligned with the school's curriculum.
  • Assessing, monitoring, and reporting on the learning needs and progress of your pupils.
  • Adapting teaching methods to cater to the diverse strengths and needs of students.
  • Setting high standards that inspire and challenge pupils.
  • Demonstrating secure subject knowledge across the KS3/KS4 Curriculum.
  • Preparing learners for external tests and assessments.
  • Implementing effective strategies for teaching pupils with SEND.
What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Successful teaching experience, particularly in delivering qualifications up to GCSE.
  • Experience in Humanities, PE, or vocational subjects is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum and effective teaching strategies.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and adapt teaching to meet their needs.
  • Knowledge of child protection and safeguarding practices.
  • Good ICT skills to support learning.
