Customs and Border Protection Officer Job Description

The role of a Customs and Border Protection Officer is to safeguard the nation's borders, enforce customs, immigration, and agriculture laws, facilitate legitimate trade and travel, conduct inspections of individuals and conveyances.

• To be eligible for this position you must have a minimum of one year experience in law enforcement or equivalent experience in enforcing regulations related to importing/exporting merchandise from/to the United States.


• A Master's degree or two years graduate-level education may also qualify candidates if they do not meet the above experience requirement.


• Candidates with specialized knowledge in areas like intelligence techniques or behavioral analysis may also be considered eligible for selection as CBPOs.
