Job Summary

Reporting to the Sous Chef, we are seeking a reliable, flexible Breakfast Cook to join our culinary team in a fast-paced hotel environment. The ideal candidate is an early riser with strong breakfast experience and the ability to prepare à la carte, buffet, and banquet items with consistency and professionalism. Banquet experience is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, cook, and present breakfast items for à la carte and/or buffet service according to recipes and standards
  • Follow all recipes and plating procedures consistently
  • Complete daily prep according to par levels and notify supervisor of shortages
  • Assist with banquet and group breakfast preparation as required
  • Maintain full knowledge of menu items; participate in daily features and promotions
  • Ensure proper food rotation (FIFO), labeling, and dating of all products
  • Receive and properly store deliveries to minimize waste and spoilage
  • Operate and understand POS system, expediting, and troubleshooting
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of equipment, counters, shelves, and work areas
  • Comply with all food safety, sanitation, and Health & Safety regulations
  • Assist Sous Chef in training and developing new team members
  • Foster a cooperative team environment within the kitchen and hotel departments
  • Maintain a neat, professional appearance (clean uniform, utility hat or hair net, proper work shoes)
  • Attend staff meetings as required
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Safe Food Handling Certification (Basic or Advanced)
  • Minimum 1 year culinary/cooking experience preferred
  • Experience in large hotel kitchens or banquet operations is an asset
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Flexible, dependable, and professional
  • Passion for hospitality and guest service
  • Must reside within a 40 km radius of Leduc, AB

Physical Requirements

  • Constant standing and walking throughout shift
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs (25% of shift)
  • Frequent lifting, carrying, and pulling of items over 20 lbs

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.00-$18.00 per hour

  • Culinary: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:
