• Fighting Crime:
• Detain suspected violators of federal, state or local laws using proper law enforcement methods.
• Audit cargo/bags/merchandise for smuggling illegal drugs and other contraband. 

• Maintaining Security: 
• Safeguard American interests by deterring illicit activity at ports-of-entry.
