Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation, excellent knife skills, and experience in fine dining or restaurant environments. This role involves preparing high-quality dishes, maintaining food safety standards, and ensuring efficient kitchen operations. The successful candidate will contribute to creating a memorable dining experience for our guests through exceptional meal presentation and service.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and standards
- Assist in menu planning and food presentation to ensure consistency and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices
- Support kitchen team during busy periods, including catering events and special functions
- Assist with inventory management and ordering supplies as needed
- Ensure all food preparation meets health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service in a timely manner
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or restaurant kitchens preferred
- Strong knowledge of food handling, safety procedures, and sanitation standards
- Proven culinary experience with skills in meal preparation, cooking techniques, and food presentation
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods
- Experience with menu planning and food industry best practices
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Knowledge of catering services and serving procedures is a plus
- Prior experience in fine dining establishments or culinary settings is desirable
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends or evenings if required
