Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Transmission Engineer with approximately
5 years of experience in transmission line design and engineering
. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of
underground (UG) transmission systems
to effectively participate in technical discussions, though they do not need to be a subject matter expert (SME). This role will support internal teams and external contractors, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables and compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and review of transmission line projects, including overhead and underground systems.
  • Participate in technical discussions related to UG transmission, providing insights and coordination support.
  • Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities.
  • Provide technical input during feasibility studies, permitting, and construction phases.
  • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in transmission engineering (overhead and/or underground).
  • Familiarity with underground transmission systems and associated design considerations.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, etc.).
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or similar).
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with utility projects and regulatory compliance.
  • Understanding of cable systems, duct banks, and civil interface for UG transmission.
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings to design.
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental considerations.
