About
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Transmission Engineer with approximately
5 years of experience in transmission line design and engineering
. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of
underground (UG) transmission systems
to effectively participate in technical discussions, though they do not need to be a subject matter expert (SME). This role will support internal teams and external contractors, ensuring high-quality engineering deliverables and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and review of transmission line projects, including overhead and underground systems.
- Participate in technical discussions related to UG transmission, providing insights and coordination support.
- Collaborate with internal engineering teams and external contractors to ensure project requirements are met.
- Review drawings, specifications, and calculations for accuracy and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
- Support project planning, scheduling, and cost estimation activities.
- Provide technical input during feasibility studies, permitting, and construction phases.
- Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in transmission engineering (overhead and/or underground).
- Familiarity with underground transmission systems and associated design considerations.
- Working knowledge of industry standards (NESC, IEEE, ASCE, etc.).
- Proficiency in engineering software tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, or similar).
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with utility projects and regulatory compliance.
- Understanding of cable systems, duct banks, and civil interface for UG transmission.
- Ability to interpret geotechnical reports and apply findings to design.
- Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental considerations.
