Position Overview
Specialists in Dermatology is seeking a highly qualified Nurse Practitioner (NP) to provide advanced dermatologic care in a collaborative, patient-centered clinical environment. The Nurse Practitioner functions as a licensed independent provider responsible for comprehensive patient assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, and procedural care in accordance with state regulations and clinical best practices.
Essential Duties and Clinical Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive dermatologic assessments, including detailed medical histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
- Formulate evidence-based diagnoses and treatment plans for medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatologic conditions
- Deliver patient education regarding diagnoses, treatment options, procedures, risks, benefits, and post-treatment care
- Perform dermatologic procedures within scope of practice, including but not limited to biopsies, injections, cryotherapy, and other therapeutic interventions
- Monitor patient outcomes and modify treatment plans as clinically indicated
- Collaborate with dermatologists and clinical staff to ensure continuity and quality of care
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation in the electronic health record
- Comply with all OSHA, HIPAA, infection control, and patient safety standards
- Maintain active licensure, certifications, and continuing medical education requirements
Required Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Current Nurse Practitioner license in good standing
- National board certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Demonstrated ability to practice independently while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team
- Strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to high-quality patient care
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in dermatology or procedural medicine
- Experience with dermatologic procedures and minor surgical techniques
- Commitment to ongoing professional development in dermatology
