We are seeking a reliable and efficient Material Handler to join our dynamic logistics team in Washington, D.C. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the smooth operation of our warehouse by managing the flow of materials. Your responsibilities will include receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing inventory. Responsibilities:
- Receive, unload, and verify incoming shipments.
- Store materials in designated warehouse locations, ensuring proper organization and stock rotation.
- Pick, pack, and prepare orders for shipment or further distribution.
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, hand trucks, and dollies safely.
- Conduct cycle counts and assist with inventory reconciliation as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, free from hazards.
- Adhere to all company safety protocols, including proper lifting techniques and the use of PPE.
- Report any safety concerns or equipment malfunctions immediately to supervision.
- Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Collaborate with team members to achieve daily operational goals within the logistics framework.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse, distribution center, or logistics environment is preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Basic understanding of inventory management and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with hand tools and material handling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to safety regulations and the mandatory use of PPE.
