We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented, and client-focused CSR, with 2–3 years of CSR experience, to be the welcoming face of our clinic. This role is primarily front desk–focused; however, candidates with 1–2 years of Veterinary Assistant experience will have opportunities to support our medical team on an as-needed basis.
This position is perfect for someone who loves helping pet owners, enjoys working in a collaborative team environment, and can stay calm and organized even on the busiest days.

JOB DESCRIPTION
FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt
Salary/Pay Range: Vet Assistant: $22-$26/Hour (Based on Experience)
What You'll Do (Primary CSR Responsibilities)Client Service & Front Desk
- Greet clients and their pets with warmth and professionalism
- Answer phones, schedule appointments, and manage daily workflow
- Check clients in and out efficiently, ensuring a smooth experience
- Handle client concerns with empathy and escalate when appropriate
- Provide basic education on preventive care, vaccines, and clinic services
- Distribute and collect required forms, ensuring accurate completion
- Maintain organized, up-to-date client and patient records
- Process payments and assist with billing inquiries
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and support staff
- Send reminders, follow up on missed appointments, and manage cancellations
Administrative Support
- Keep the reception area clean, organized, and welcoming
- Maintain accurate reminders and documentation in Shepherd
- Support inventory management and front office supply needs
- Assist with scanning, faxing, copying, and record updates
- Notify management of building or equipment concerns
Vet Assistant Duties (As Needed)
Used to support the team during peak hours, staff shortages, or busy medical days.
- Safely restrain animals for exams, treatments, and diagnostics
- Assist veterinarians during procedures or surgeries
- Perform basic patient care tasks (nail trims, bathing, ear cleaning)
- Monitor post-op patients and report concerns to veterinarians
- Prepare medications, refill prescriptions, and process lab samples
- Perform X-rays, collect specimens, and support diagnostic testing
- Clean and maintain exam rooms, treatment areas, and equipment

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2-3 years of reception/front desk experience
- 1–2 years of veterinary assistant experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with basic veterinary terminology and pet preventive care
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs and assist with handling larger animals as needed
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, kneel, and crouch for extended periods throughout the workday
- Physical stamina to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment
- Ability to safely restrain animals of various sizes, breeds, and temperaments, including those that may be stressed, fearful, or reactive
- Adequate hand dexterity and coordination to perform clinical tasks such as blood draws, catheter placement, medication administration, and laboratory procedures
- Ability to respond quickly during urgent or emergency situations
- Clear verbal communication and adequate hearing to interact effectively with clients, veterinarians, and team members in a busy clinic
- Comfort working in environments with pet dander, fur, bodily fluids, cleaning chemicals, and occasional loud noises
