Job Title: Server / Bartender Job Summary
The Server/Bartender provides exceptional guest service by taking food and beverage orders, preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, and ensuring a welcoming, efficient, and enjoyable dining experience. This role requires strong multitasking skills, product knowledge, and a friendly, professional attitude.
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Service
- Greet guests promptly and courteously
- Take accurate food and beverage orders
- Provide menu and drink recommendations
- Ensure guest satisfaction and resolve concerns professionally
Bartending Duties
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to recipes and standards
- Verify guest age and comply with alcohol service laws
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area
- Monitor guest alcohol consumption and promote responsible drinking
Serving Duties
- Deliver food and beverages in a timely manner
- Check in with guests throughout service
- Process payments accurately using POS systems
- Clear and reset tables efficiently
Operational Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of dining and bar areas
- Stock bar supplies, garnishes, and glassware
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house staff
Qualifications & Skills
- Previous serving or bartending experience preferred (but not required, depending on establishment)
- Knowledge of cocktails, beer, wine, and basic food pairings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Basic math and cash-handling skills
- Must meet legal age requirements for alcohol service
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift and carry trays, glassware, and supplies (up to 25–50 lbs)
- Comfortable working evenings, weekends, and holidays
Work Environment
- Fast-paced restaurant or bar setting
- Exposure to noise, crowds, and frequent guest interaction
Job Type: Part-time
Education:
- High school or equivalent (Preferred)
Experience:
- Food Service: 1 year (Preferred)
- server and bartender: 1 year (Preferred)
Work Location: In person
