Join our dynamic team as a Meat Cutter/Manager on Shift, where you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality meat products and exceptional customer service. This energetic position combines hands-on meat preparation, food handling, and team leadership to ensure our customers receive fresh, expertly cut meats in a friendly, efficient environment. As a key member of our food industry team, you will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, managing daily operations, and supporting the overall success of the meat department.
Duties
- Prepare and cut a variety of meats with precision using professional knife skills and meat cutting techniques to meet quality standards.
- Oversee daily shift operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to safety protocols.
- Package meat products efficiently while maintaining freshness and presentation quality for retail display or customer purchase.
- Provide excellent customer service by assisting shoppers with product selection, answering questions about cuts and preparation methods.
- Maintain strict food safety and sanitation standards in accordance with industry regulations to ensure safe handling of all food products.
- Manage inventory levels, restock displays, and coordinate with suppliers for timely delivery of fresh meats.
- Lead and motivate team members during your shift, providing guidance on food preparation, safety procedures, and customer interactions.
Skills
- Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or kitchen environments within the food industry.
- Strong knife skills and expertise in meat cutting techniques to ensure precise cuts and portioning.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling practices to maintain hygiene standards.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively and assist shoppers confidently.
- Previous experience in food packaging, especially related to meat products or similar perishable goods.
- Background in culinary or restaurant environments is highly desirable for understanding food presentation and quality standards.
- Leadership abilities to manage shift operations efficiently while fostering a positive team atmosphere.
