Overview

We are a growing specialty construction company delivering industrial projects across Western Canada and beyond within Water and Waste Water Industry. We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Business Development Coordinator to help expand our market presence, strengthen client relationships, and support proposals and projects as the business scales.

This is a hands-on growth role, ideal for someone who enjoys business development, client interaction, and learning technical work — not just managing from a distance. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and operations and have a clear path to increased responsibility and independence.

Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales

  • Proactively identify new business opportunities through cold calls, follow-ups, networking, and industry research
  • Set up meetings, presentations, and site visits with prospective clients
  • Manage the sales process from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and closing
  • Track leads, opportunities, and client activity using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)

Client Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
  • Keep regular contact to stay informed on upcoming projects and opportunities
  • Track who is working on which projects and support continuity between sales and operations
  • Provide professional follow-up and ongoing client support

Proposals & Marketing Support

  • Assist with preparation of proposals, estimates, presentations, and bid submissions
  • Coordinate information from operations, management, and vendors as needed
  • Collaborate on targeted marketing and outreach initiatives that support growth goals

Trade Shows & Industry Events

  • Attend and actively represent the company at trade shows and industry events
  • Engage potential clients, collect leads, and coordinate post-event follow-ups
  • Assist with planning, logistics, and materials for events

Project & General Business Support

  • Assist with project-related administrative and coordination tasks when required
  • Support cross-functional efforts to ensure smooth execution from sales to delivery
  • Take initiative in improving systems, tracking, and workflows as the company grows

What We're Looking For

  • Proven experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles (construction or industrial experience is an asset, specially in water and waste water industry in Municipalities, Mining, Oil and Gas or others)
  • Comfortable with cold calling, follow-ups, and relationship-driven sales
  • Strong organizational and project coordination skills
  • Highly Important to be able to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership
  • Fast learner with interest in understanding technical construction work
  • Willing to travel for meetings, trade shows, and site visits
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills

Nice to Have (Not Required)

  • Experience with CRM platforms
  • Background in construction, industrial services, or B2B sales
  • Proposal writing or estimating exposure
  • Marketing or trade show experience
