Overview
We are a growing specialty construction company delivering industrial projects across Western Canada and beyond within Water and Waste Water Industry. We are seeking a motivated, results-driven Business Development Coordinator to help expand our market presence, strengthen client relationships, and support proposals and projects as the business scales.
This is a hands-on growth role, ideal for someone who enjoys business development, client interaction, and learning technical work — not just managing from a distance. The successful candidate will work closely with ownership and operations and have a clear path to increased responsibility and independence.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Development & Sales
- Proactively identify new business opportunities through cold calls, follow-ups, networking, and industry research
- Set up meetings, presentations, and site visits with prospective clients
- Manage the sales process from lead generation through proposal, negotiation, and closing
- Track leads, opportunities, and client activity using CRM tools (Salesforce or similar)
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong relationships with new and existing clients
- Keep regular contact to stay informed on upcoming projects and opportunities
- Track who is working on which projects and support continuity between sales and operations
- Provide professional follow-up and ongoing client support
Proposals & Marketing Support
- Assist with preparation of proposals, estimates, presentations, and bid submissions
- Coordinate information from operations, management, and vendors as needed
- Collaborate on targeted marketing and outreach initiatives that support growth goals
Trade Shows & Industry Events
- Attend and actively represent the company at trade shows and industry events
- Engage potential clients, collect leads, and coordinate post-event follow-ups
- Assist with planning, logistics, and materials for events
Project & General Business Support
- Assist with project-related administrative and coordination tasks when required
- Support cross-functional efforts to ensure smooth execution from sales to delivery
- Take initiative in improving systems, tracking, and workflows as the company grows
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in business development, sales, or client-facing roles (construction or industrial experience is an asset, specially in water and waste water industry in Municipalities, Mining, Oil and Gas or others)
- Comfortable with cold calling, follow-ups, and relationship-driven sales
- Strong organizational and project coordination skills
- Highly Important to be able to work independently, manage priorities, and take ownership
- Fast learner with interest in understanding technical construction work
- Willing to travel for meetings, trade shows, and site visits
- Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Experience with CRM platforms
- Background in construction, industrial services, or B2B sales
- Proposal writing or estimating exposure
- Marketing or trade show experience
