Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with menu planning and ingredient preparation to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations, adhering strictly to food safety protocols
- Handle food with care, ensuring proper storage, handling, and sanitation practices are followed
- Support catering events and special functions by preparing dishes in accordance with event specifications
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and high-quality food delivery
- Use knife skills expertly for chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary setting, preferably within fine dining or upscale restaurants
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and food handling safety standards
- Experience with menu planning and meal preparation in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and proficiency in cooking methods across various cuisines
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Prior restaurant experience demonstrating a solid understanding of food service operations
