Job Title: Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) – Full-time preferred. Part-time applications and PRN STATUS will be considered

Reports To: Physical Therapist (PT) / Director of Rehabilitation
Location: Stonewall Memorial Hospital, Aspermont Texas

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our interdisciplinary therapy team. The PTA will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to deliver quality care to patients in both long-term care and outpatient settings. The ideal candidate will be passionate about improving patients' mobility, functional independence, and quality of life through rehabilitative treatment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans for patients in long-term care and outpatient services.
  • Deliver physical therapy interventions in accordance with the care plan, PT directives, and clinical best practices.
  • Monitor patient responses and report progress, concerns, and changes to the supervising PT.
  • Accurately document treatments and patient responses in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
  • Educate patients, caregivers, and facility staff on treatment goals, safe mobility techniques, and therapeutic exercises.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable state and federal regulations and facility policies.
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to support resident-centered care and successful outpatient outcomes.

Position Details:

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, hours flexible based on case load.  
  • Settings: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) / Long-Term Care and Outpatient Clinic
  • Compensation: Competitive based on experience + benefits

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • Current PTA license or eligibility for licensure in the State of Texas.
  • CPR certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Previous experience in long-term care and/or outpatient therapy preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, time management, and interpersonal skills.
