Overview:

You will be responsible for developing, coordinating, and supervising engaging recreational and guest-experience activities throughout the resort. This role plays a critical part in enhancing the guest experience while actively creating programming that drives incremental revenue through food, beverage, and resortactivities. This position requires a high-energy, personable, and creative leader who thrives in a fast-paced resort environment and enjoys interacting with guests of all ages. Pay Rate $23.00 #towncountrySD

Responsibilities:

  • Guest Experience & Programming
  • Design, plan, and execute daily and seasonal resort activities including poolside programming, games, entertainment, themed events, and family-friendly experiences.

  • Create revenue-generating activities such as poolside events, ticketed experiences, themed weekends, and food-and-beverage-driven programming.
  • Actively engage with guests at the pool, Monkey Bar, and Arlo, ensuring a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment.
  • Promote resort amenities, events, and outlets through direct guest interaction and programming announcements.

### Food & Beverage Support

  • Partner closely with Food & Beverage leadership to support Monkey Bar and Arlo operations during high-volume periods.
  • Assist with guest flow, service coordination, and activity integration with food and beverage offerings.
  • Support promotions tied to food and beverage sales (happy hours, themed menus, poolside specials).

### Team Leadership & Supervision

  • Supervise and support one Activities Coordinator, including scheduling, training, coaching, and performance feedback.
  • Lead by example with strong guest service standards, professionalism, and enthusiasm.
  • Assist with onboarding and training of seasonal or support staff as needed.

### Operations & Administration

  • Maintain daily activity schedules and ensure proper setup, execution, and breakdown of all activities.
  • Monitor inventory and supplies related to activities; report needs and assist with ordering.
  • Ensure all activities comply with resort safety standards and policies.
  • Communicate clearly with Recreation, F&B, and Operations teams to align daily programming.
  • Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate concerns when appropriate.

Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework in hospitality, recreation, events, or related field preferred.
  • 1–3 years of experience in recreation, hospitality, activities, events, or food & beverage support, preferably in a hotel or resort environment.
  • Prior supervisory or lead experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect easily with guests, families, and team members.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to develop new activities and experiences that enhance guest satisfaction and revenue.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, outdoor, guest-facing environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, holidays, and peak resort seasons.

## Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position is physically active and primarily based outdoors.

Candidates must be able t

  • Stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8+ hours per shift).
  • Work outdoors in varying weather conditions including sun, heat, and humidity.
  • Lift, carry, push, or pull items weighing up to 40–50 lbs (activity equipment, supplies, signage).
  • Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, and twist while setting up or supervising activities.
  • Move quickly and safely around pool decks, bar areas, and restaurant spaces.
  • Maintain high energy and stamina throughout the workday.
  • Communicate clearly in noisy or crowded environments.
  • Perform duties near water and wet surfaces while maintaining safety awareness.
